CASTOR CHURCH CHI-RHO (the oldest Christian artefact found in Castor parish was a 3rd\/4th<\/sup> cent Roman bowl inscribed with a chi-rho. The Water Newton Treasure, found nearby is also thought to originate from the Roman Palace\/Praetorium in Castor Churchyard. Much of this treasure, now in British Museum, is also marked with the chi-rho.<\/p>\n

The Della Robbia in Lady Chapel<\/p>\n

The Della Robbia copy in the Lady Chapel of Madonna and Child (in straw bed) is a copy of a piece by Luca della Robbia, the original being on the Church of Santa Maria in Florence. Our copy was reproduced on plaster in the workshops of the Louvre Paris, costing \u00a3750. Sold by Earth and Fire Italian Terracotta Workshop.<\/p>\n
